BRITS heading to Spain are being warned to expect more flight cancellations due to the ongoing storms.

Airport operator AENA said that more than 540 flights were cancelled yesterday due to the storm.
More have been cancelled today, AENA confirmed – 35 flights have been cancelled from Tenerife North, with another 20 at Gran Canaria, 11 at La Palma and 4 at El Hierro.
A number have also been diverted due to the weather.
Holidaymakers are warned to contact their airline to see if their flight is going ahead.

Brits have complained on social media with airlines including Wizz Air and easyJet affected.
Twitter user George Ellis, who was flying to Tenerife, wrote: “It’s been 3 hours and still sitting on the runway at Gatwick.”
Someone else said they had the “same problem” with their easyJet flight.
Local airline Binter said they had cancelled all operations to the four airports until at least 11am.

Spain’s national weather agency, Aemet issued a red weather alert for the islands of Gran Canaria, La Palma and El Hierro yesterday.
Regional president Angel Victor Torres told a press conference the storm was expected to move closest to the islands between 11pm on Sunday and 11am today.
Hermine had been expected to strike the Canary Islands as a tropical storm but was downgraded on Sunday to a tropical depression by the U.S. National Hurricane Center. It said heavy rains were expected to continue into Monday.
