Black Stars technical advisor Chris Hughton says his side will need a bit of luck to excel at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The four-time African champions are on the verge of progressing to the round of 16 stage of the competition following their 3-2 win over South Korea on Monday.
Black Stars and Uruguay face off at the Al Janoub Stadium on Friday in the final Group H game. A win or draw will see Ghana progress to the next round at the expense of the South American country.
“One thing I’m confident of is the work Otto and the technical staff have put in. This team will be very well prepared and the players will give everything,” Chris Hughton told the Mail.
“We will have to play well and we’ll need a bit of luck. But we’ve seen in past tournaments that anything is possible for a country like ours.”
Black Stars are currently second in Group H while Uruguay lie bottom with only one point.
The game will be a repeat of the 2010 World Cup quarter-final incident which saw Luis Suarez save his side with the handball incident as Ghana eventually bowed out of the tournament on penalty shootouts.
