Four Things To Ease Into Fall With

I’m not gonna lie, it’s still in the 90s in Los Angeles.

But I’m 100% itching for cooler temps and while I stick out the wait, I’m trying to ease some autumn colors and new season styles into my closet. Below are a few of my new favorite key pieces for fall that are making the transition feel effortless.

No.1

Invest In A Good Plaid

Whether it’s a solid blazer that comes in a plaid print or an easy button down shirt, one of the very first things that I purchase for fall is always a little piece of plaid to spice things up. You can toss this over your summer white dresses or drape it over the shoulders for a dinner out on the town.

No.2

Bag Upgrade

I know you’ve probably had a new bag on your ‘to purchase’ list for a while now. This is the perfect time to invest in a dark brown bag that will instantly add an autumn touch to your closet. Everyone is screaming over the Lotus Bag by Khaite, but I’ve found really great comp’s from Banana Republic and J.Crew that I think get the job done!

No.3

Heels Made For Walkin’

I can’t really wear boots right now, so I’m trading them in for the new chunky heel style which I’m considering my fall transition piece. I’d also add a new ballet slipper to the ‘to buy’ list.

No.4

Classic Slip Skirt

If you don’t already have a slip skirt in your closet consider this your big, official *hint hint*. I recently got a new one by J.Crew and it checks off all the boxes. It’s the best transitional piece that you can wear with big chunky sweaters and boots or heels.
