Atkins Kent 101, the 120,000-square-foot medical office building that is located directly across the street from Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and adjacent to RWJBarnabas Health’s corporate offices in West Orange, has long been one of the area’s premier health care facilities.
It just needed an upgrade.
On Tuesday, the Atkins Cos. announced it has done just that, completing numerous capital improvements to return the building to a modern health care destination.
Atkins Cos. Principal Bob Atkins said the project sought to enhance patients’ and practitioners’ experience at the building. The improvements include the renovation and modernization of the building’s common areas and restrooms on the second, fourth and fifth floors through the addition of new lighting, flooring, fixtures and decor.
“Today’s health care practitioners and their patients expect and deserve an experience that moves beyond just providing four walls and a roof,” Atkins said. “Across our portfolio, we’ve emphasized ensuring our spaces and management continually exceed their expectations. These latest capital improvements at Atkins Kent 101 speak to that commitment, and we are proud to deliver this space to all of those who enter the building.”
The building certainly has the bones it needs.
Constructed in 1983 by Atkins Cos., the building features three stretcher-accessible elevators, ample patient parking with an abundance of handicapped spaces, automatic doors, canopied entries for patient dropoff and a modern design featuring a two-story lobby with granite flooring.
