When You’re Weary and Burdened

Yesterday, my daughter, Courtney and I went shopping for a few hours. We had so much fun together, talking and laughing.

Something had us reminiscing about last year when Courtney delivered Caroline two months early.

Courtney’s delivery and the weeks and months after Caroline was born were challenging to say the least.

When we look back, we don’t see how we got through that season; we felt weary and burdened. Yet we know Jesus was with us, and He strengthened us.

We’re so thankful that Caroline is thriving, and we believe God has big plans for her.

There’s no doubt life can be hard. Spend one day listening to the news and all that is happening in our world, and it can overwhelm you.

Christy Nockels spoke at our church a few weeks ago, and she shared her weariness. She said we were not meant to see so much of what we see. Our minds and hearts are overwhelmed by all the negativity we see online.

We have lived through a pandemic; we recently saw a massive hurricane cause destruction and even loss of life in Florida, not to mention that crime is rampant.

My guess is that some of you reading this right now are weary too. None of us are exempt from pain in this life.

But here is what I constantly remind myself and my family. We might get weary, but there is always HOPE; Jesus says come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).

Today, let me encourage you to hold on and know that you don’t walk this journey alone. More than ever, we need each other.

I shared this song last year, but I heard it recently and was reminded that we won’t be weary long.

Love & Blessings,
Cyndi
