Purina Senior Program

Purina has committed itself to assisting senior citizens in our community. Purina has donated funds to sponsor the cost of sterilization surgery for an adopted animal for qualifying seniors.

Studies have shown that pet companionship may actually improve senior citizen health and outlook on life. Lowered blood pressure and a reduction in stress are among the benefits of pet ownership. In addition, seniors acquiring pets through the program report feeling happier and safer.

Upon receipt of the application (they are here at the shelter), a shelter representative may contact qualifying seniors to discuss the program.
